Consumption
Healthy consumption of food gives our bodies the nutrients and the correct materials needed to function and boost up properly. Getting it wrong can lead to malfunctioning of metabolic processes, thus declining the standardisation of our health state and making it deficient.
For instance, over eating, or consuming what gives our bodies the wrong instructions, can lead to overweight, undernourished, and thus lead to risk of developing diseases and unfavourable conditions, such as arthritis, diabetes, and heart disease, sleep paralysis, etc.
In short, what we eat is central to our health. Consider that in light of Webster’s definition of medicine: “The science and art dealing with the maintenance of health and the prevention, alleviation, or cure of disease.”
Food acts as medicine–to maintain, prevent, and treat disease. This will be explicitly explained in our subsequent programme.
